Construction Revenue Accountant

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate routinely with Project Managers on a variety of job related topics including bonding, insurance and contract agreements.
- Assume full responsibility for invoicing, issuance of credit memos and close collaboration with Project Managers.
- Monitoring receivables aging and collections.
- Work with Accounting Manager and CFO on month-end close procedures, including balance sheet reconciliations and cash applications.
- Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management.
- Cross-training with Accounts Payable functions.
- Responsible for making suggestions on process improvement, where applicable.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Average Percent of Time:
- 20% Handling and processing all aspects of construction payables, including coding, processing contract award work sheets and maintenance of the job cost chart of accounts.
- 15% Processing contractors’ payment applications for monthly billings.
- 15% Preparation of loan draws and capital calls from both Joint Venture partner and parent company.
- 20% Preparation of cash flows, uncompleted contracts schedule and company financial reporting requirements.
- 15% Preparation of monthly close and related journal entries.
- 15% Preparation of monthly job cost activities ensuring consistent and proper coding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Understanding of commercial insurance policies required.
- Demonstrated experience with QuickBooks Contractor; with Sage 100 Contractor and/or Textura experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
